Parents and Community

Cleves is a culturally rich and diverse community in Newham. We offer a wide range of extended services for families in which they have the opportunity to take part in.

Our popular Breakfast club runs daily and is free where children are provided with breakfast and activities before the school day begins. After School Provision runs daily from 3.30-5.30pm where children have a healthy snack,  recieve support with their homework and take part in fun activities. The cost is £8 a session or £40 per week.

Our Family Centre staff are welcoming and friendly and can provide information on the range of family activities which are on our weekly activity programme for families with children under 5’s. The session support parents/carers with their children learning and development needs preparing them for when they start school.

Working with parents and the community is a great strength at Cleves. We work towards this by holding regular events such as:

  • Parents' Afternoons and Evenings, curriculum summaries and curriculum targets for every child
  • Encouragement for parents to help in class and homework
  • Translation services
  • Parents' training courses
  • How to help your child at home
  • ICT skills
  • Book Fairs

Parental involvement is central to school development
